SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility
The Commission has set criteria for minimum eligibility criteria including educational qualification, age limit and nationality, hence not everyone can appear for the SSC CGL exam. As per this year’s notification, the SSC CGL eligibility criteria are as follows-
SSC CGL Education Qualification
- For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation. - For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
- For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
- For Remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

SSC CGL 2025 Online Application Form
The registration process for the SSC CGL 2025 exam will be conducted in online mode only. All eligible candidates can fill out the SSC CGL online application form from 22nd April to 21st May 2025 by visiting the official website www.ssc.gov.in
SSC CGL Application Fee 2025
Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 while filling the SSC CGL application form online on the website www.ssc.gov.in. Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and ESM categories are eligible for reservation and are exempted from paying the application fee. The application fee has to be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking or Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or RuPay Debit Card only.
Steps to Apply for SSC CGL 2025
- Visit the new official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) at www.ssc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click on “Apply” under Quick Links.
- Now click on “Apply” against the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025.
- If you are a new user, then click on “Register Now” and create a new username/registration number and password for yourself.
- Now login with your Username (Registration Number) and Password and fill in the captcha code carefully.
- Enter the required details in the fields and attach the documents which are asked for in the application form.
- Pay the pre-requisite application fee through online mode via credit/debit/net banking.
- Submit the duly filled application form and download it for future reference.
SSC CGL Selection Process 2025
Two years ago, SSC revised the selection process, and now only two-tier exams will be conducted to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts under the SSC CGL Notification 2025. SSC CGL Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
Stage 1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).
Stage 2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
• All candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).
• Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination.
• Separate cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).
• Tier-II Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
• In Tier II, all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However, only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) will be required to appear in Paper-II.
• The final selection list will be prepared based on marks scored by the candidates solely in Paper 2.

SSC CGL 2025 Result and Cut-Off Marks
The Staff Selection Commission announces the results for each stage on its official website www.ssc.gov.in. This year, there will be a 2-tier selection process and Tier 1 will be of a qualifying nature. The SSC CGL Tier 1 result will be declared by announcing the names and roll numbers of the candidates who qualified for the Tier 2 exam. Only the marks of the students in the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 2 exam will be used to generate the final results.
