 National Eligibility Test (NET) of Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) is one of the popular examinations conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who wish to become lecturers or assistant professors in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs) in India.

ASRB NET Exam is a national level exam which is conducted once a year in three phases. Initially, candidates have to appear in the preliminary exam, which is an eligibility test. ASRB NET Selection Process 2025

ASRB will select candidates for Lecturer or Assistant Professorship in SAU/AU based on performance in Prelims, Mains and Interviews. To be eligible for the mains and interview stage candidates have to qualify the preliminary exam. So, candidates need to know the ASRB NET syllabus and examination pattern. Final selection will be based on mains exam and interview marks.

Exam Description
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type—Qualifying in Nature) It is a qualifying test conducted to shortlist candidates for the main exam only. Its primary purpose is to ensure candidates meet a minimum level of competency.
Mains Examination (Written/Descriptive Examination) Candidates qualifying for the preliminary examination will be eligible for the main exam. This stage is descriptive and focuses on in-depth knowledge of the subject.
Interview Interviews are conducted to check candidates’ knowledge, practical understanding, and communication skills are assessed by a panel of experts.

ASRB NET Exam Pattern 2025

Candidates preparing for the ASRB NET 2025 must  know the structure of the exam. ASRB NET 2025 will have one paper of 150 marks with 150 multiple choice questions; Each question carries one mark, which is to be completed in 2 hours. The questions will vary depending on the topic selected by the candidates from among 60 different topics.
