B.Ed Entrance Exam Pattern 2025

Though the pattern of examination can be slightly different in states and universities, the overall framework is the same. The exam comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on various subjects. There are 100 to 150 questions in total, and each question is worth one mark. The marks for the examination can also range between 100 to 150, with no negative marking for most of them.
The test is generally separated into five major parts:
General Awareness – This segment tests the candidate’s knowledge about current events, history, geography, polity, significant national and international happenings, education policies, books and authors, and environmental concerns.
Teaching Aptitude – This segment tests the candidate’s knowledge about the teaching-learning process, child psychology, classroom management strategies, teachers’ role in society, communication skills, and inclusive education.
Logical & Analytical Reasoning – This part assesses the candidate’s problem-solving skills and ability to think logically. Topics range from number series, alphabet series, coding-decoding, blood relations, puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogisms, analogies, classification, to statement-conclusion-based questions.
General English/Hindi – Candidates need to prove their language skill proficiency. In the English language section, questions are asked from reading comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, fill in the blanks, idioms, phrases, and grammar. For Hindi section, subjects include अपठित गद्यांश (unseen passage), पर्यायवाची/विलोम शब्द (synonyms/antonyms), वाक्य संशोधन (sentence correction), मुहावरे और लोकोक्तियाँ (idioms and proverbs), and व्याकरण (grammar).
Subject-Specific Knowledge (For Some Exams) – There are some universities which ask candidates to opt for subject specialization like Science, Commerce, or Humanities. Questions here are subject knowledge-based, i.e., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for Science stream; Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies for Commerce stream; History, Geography, Political Science, and Sociology for Humanities stream.
The exam is typically of 2 to 3 hours duration. The language of the exam is state and university dependent, with English and Hindi being the available options.
