BSSC SSO BSO Selection Process 2025
A systematic process which is set by the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) is followed by the selection process for BSSC Block / Sub-Statistical Officer (SSO BSO)
- Written Examination Marks (75 Marks) – The Preference will be based on the marks obtained in the written exam.
- Work Experience (25 marks) – If you have work experience you will get 5 marks for each year of work (maximum up to 25 marks). Candidates who work less than a year, the number of days worked is calculated to give marks
The total marks for the SSO BSO selection process are 100, which includes 75 marks for the written test and 25 marks for work experience. The preference based on the marks in the test will be calculated by multiplying the percentage of the candidate’s marks by 0.75.
BSSC SSO BSO Exam Pattern 2025
There are certain conditions for which the BSSC SSO BSO Exam will be conducted, these are-
- If the number of applications is more than 40000, the Prelims exam will be held
- The preliminary exam is objective (multiple-choice),and candidates will be called for the main exam based on the ratio of 5 times the number of vacancies available in each category.
Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam will have one paper on General Knowledge include the following subjects-
- General Studies
- General Science & Mathematics
- Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)
Main Exam: The main exam will have two papers:
Paper 1: Hindi (is a qualifying paper, candidates must score at least 30% for the evaluation of Paper 2).
Paper 2: The Main Paper covers the following subjects same as the Prelims:

- Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)
