To determine their eligibility for Zonal Based Officer (ZBO) positions, candidates must review the comprehensive Central Bank ZBO Notification PDF. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have earned a degree in any field or an equivalent credential recognized by the central government, such as an integrated dual degree (IDD), medical, engineering, chartered accounting, or cost accounting. Candidates should be fluent in any of the designated adopted local languages of the applied zone, including reading, writing, and comprehension.
Age Limit
The minimum and maximum ages for candidates should be 21 and 32 years old, respectively. Candidates must have been born on or before December 1, 1992, and no later than November 30, 2003 (inclusive).

CBI Zonal Based Officer Recruitment 2025 Selection Process
Written exams and interviews are used to choose applicants for positions as zonal-based officers. Candidates who pass the written exam and meet the requirements for each zone and category will be invited for interviews four times in total. The online test and the interview will have an 80:20 weighting. For the General Category, the minimum qualifying score for an online exam will be 50%, while the minimal score for the SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories would be 45%.
- Stage 1: Written Exam: The written exam for the CBI Zonal Based Officer will be administered online. Those who pass the online test will be selected to attend an interview.
- Stage 2: Interview: After passing a written exam, the qualified candidate will be invited to take the 100-point interview exam. The qualifying score for the interview is 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and 50% for the general category.
Central Bank ZBO Exam Pattern 2025
There will be 120 objective-style multiple-choice questions on the CBI ZBO exam, worth a total of 120 points. The subjects that will be tested are English language proficiency, banking knowledge, computer proficiency, current economic conditions, and general awareness. Each subject has a subsection time limit for answering questions. In the written exam, the qualifying scores are 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and 50% for the general category.
