The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by the central board of secondary Education (CBSC) for determining the eligibility of the candidates for the teacher position in primary and upper primary schools in India. This exam is important for the securing the government teacher job position. 

CTET Exam Structure

In this examination there will be two papers
Paper 1: This paper is for the candidates who want to teach at the primary stage
Paper 2: This paper is for the candidates who want to teach to the upper primary classes.

Syllabus for paper 1

In Child Development and Pedagogy the topics are understanding child development, concept of inclusive education and learning, teaching and learning strategies, theories of learning and influence of heredity and environment.

In the first language it contains language comprehension, pedagogy of language development and grammar and vocabulary and teaching-Learning materials (TLM).

In the second language i.e is Language 2 which is a compulsory subject which contains topics as comprehensive & passage based questions, language pedagogy and difference between language 1 and 2.

In Mathematics the topics are Number System, Arithmetic operations and geometry and mensuration and problem solving & logical thinking also the mathematics pedagogy.

Environmental Studies in this subjects the topics are family and friends, food & shelter, water, travel and things we make and our environment & natural resources and the environmental education pedagogy.

Syllabus for paper 2

In child development and pedagogy in this topics will be cognitive & emotional development, learning and motivation, pedagogical approaches to child development, and theories of children with special needs.

In Language 1 the topics are comprehension, grammar and usage and language pedagogy.

In language 2 the topics are advanced comprehension passages and language pedagogy.

Mathematics & Science covers the topics as algebra, geometry and trigonometry, data handling & probability, force, motion and energy, food nutrition and human body and science and teaching techniques.

Social studies include Indian history & geography, political science & Indian Constitution, economics & development and social science pedagogy.
