All candidates should be aware of the JKSSB JE Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2025. The JKSSB Syllabus is released by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board. It is crucial to know the structure of the exam and the syllabus and subject-wise topics that need to be prepared. JKSSB JE Selection Process 2025

There is a two-stage selection process for JKSSB Junior Engineer Posts. To be eligible for the document verification candidates have to qualify for the written exam. After that the final merit list of selected candidates is published.

  • Written Examination: The written examination consists of multiple choice, objective type questions and the question paper will be in English only. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. ¼ marks given to the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Document Verification: Candidates who have successfully cleared the JKSSB JE written examination will be called for verification of their original documents, copies of which were uploaded while filling the application form.

JKSSB Junior Engineer Exam Pattern 2025

The structure of the JKSSB Junior Engineer exam consists of three sections namely Technical Subjects, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness. The JKSSB JE exam has a test duration of 2 hours with 180 questions for a total of 180 marks. The syllabus for General Intelligence, Reasoning and General Awareness sections remains the same while the Civil, Electrical and Mechanical field subjects are different from each other.

JKSSB JE Syllabus 2025

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has not officially announced the Junior Engineer Electrical Exam Syllabus. JKSSB JE technical subjects include Civil, Mechanical and Electrical. This year 292 vacancies have been announced for JE (Electrical) posts, so here we have provided detailed Syllabus of Electrical.

Electrical Machines
  • Single phase transformer – equivalent circuit, phasor diagram, tests, regulation and efficiency;

  • DC machines–types, windings, generator characteristics, armature reaction and commutation, starting and speed control of motors;

Power Systems
  • Basic power generation concepts;

Electrical and Electronic Measurements
  • Bridges and potentiometers; 
  • PMMC, moving iron, dynamometer and induction type instruments; Extension of range, measurement of voltage, current, power, energy and power factor;

Electronic Devices and Circuits
  • Energy bands in silicon, intrinsic and extrinsic silicon. Carrier transport in silicon: diffusion current, drift current, mobility, and resistivity. 
  • p-n junction diode, Zener diode, tunnel diode, BJT, JFET, MOS capacitor, MOSFET, LED, avalanche photo diode 
  • Small Signal Equivalent circuits of diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs.

  • Biasing and bias stability of transistor and FET amplifiers.
