NDA & CDS Exams: Syllabus for Defence Aspirants

In this article we are going to know about the selection process as well as the syllabus for the examination, Lets understand this one by one.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) and Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for aspirants. lets understand the exam pattern and syllabus of this examination.

NDA Exam Syllabus and the selection Process

Selection Process

In this section we are going to know about the selection process of the NDA & CDA exam,
1. Written Examination
2. SSB Interview
3. Medical Examination
4. Final Merit List and Training

There will be the two subjects for the total 900 marks with 270 questions for the 5 hours for each 2.5 hours respectively. The subjects are mathematics and general ability test (GAT). There will be negative marking of 1/3 rd for every incorrect answer.

Syllabus

In This section we will know about the syllabus of the NDA Exam,

Mathematics
This paper is of total 300 marks with the topics containing algebra, matrices, trigonometry, analytical geometry, vector algebra, probability and statistics.

General Ability Test
This paper is of total 600 marks which is divided into two parts as english for 200 marks which contains grammar, vocabulary and comprehension, and the second part which is of General Knowledge for 400 marks which contains physics, chemistry, biology and history civics, geography and current affairs.

Interview Process includes screening test, psychological tests, GTO tasks, personal interview and conference which is the final evaluation. The final selection is based on the written exam scores and SSB interview performance.

This exam pattern contains total 600 marks which contains subjects English General Knowledge Mathematics. For OTA its 200 marks and for IMA, INA, AFA its 300 marks.

It contains total three parts as English for 100 marks which contains topics as grammar and sentence structure, vocabulary and comprehension passages. General Knowledge is for 100 marks containing topics as current affairs, history geography of India and science and technology. And mathematics contains arithmetic algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics.
