The NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) it is an national level entrance exam conducted for admission of MD/MS/PG Diploma courses in India. Lets go through the exam pattern and syllabus of this exam.
Exam Pattern NEET PG
Tis is a Computer Based Test which contains Multiple choice questions (MCQ) for the total 800 Marks with 200 questions with a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
In this examination there will be negative marking of -1 marks for each wrong answers. The language of this examination will be only English.
Syllabus NEET PG
This exam syllabus is based on the MBBS curriculum it covers pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical phases.
Pre Clinical Subjects
In this subject there will be anatomy, Physiology and biochemistry each for the 17 to 20 marks respectively. these three topics contains subtopics such as anatomy contains general and systematic, neurology, embryology and histology.
Physiology contains general and systemic physiology, cardiovascular, respiratory and renal physiology. And Biochemistry contains metabolism and enzymes, vitamins and minerals and molecular biology and genetics these sub topics into that main subject.
Para-Clinical Subjects
It contains Pathology for 25 to 30 Questions and it contains sub topics as General & Systemic Pathology, Hematology & Immunology, Neoplasia & Inflammatory Diseases. Pharmacology is for 20 to 25 Questions which contains General & Systemic Pharmacology, Mechanism of Drug Action, Antimicrobials & Chemotherapy, Toxicology & Drug Interactions.
Microbiology is for 20 to 25 Questions Bacteriology & Virology, Mycology & Parasitology, Immunology & Infectious Diseases and Forensic Medicine is for 8 to 10 Questions which contains Medical Jurisprudence, Toxicology & Poisoning, Postmortem Examination.
Clinical Subjects
In this subject Medicine & Allied Subjects is for 40 to 45 Questions General Medicine & Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonology & Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology & Hematology. Surgery & Allied Subjects is for 40 to 45 Questions which contains General Surgery & Trauma, Orthopedics & ENT, Ophthalmology & Anesthesia. Obstetrics & Gynecology is for 20 to 25 Questions Pregnancy & Fetal Development, Labor & Puerperium, Gynecological Disorders & Contraception.
Pediatrics is for 10 to 15 Questions which contains Neonatology & Developmental Pediatrics, Common Pediatric Diseases & Vaccination. Radiology & Radiotherapy for 5-10 Questions which contains Imaging Techniques (X-ray, CT, MRI, USG), Radiation Therapy & Oncology. Dermatology, Psychiatry, and Anesthesia is for 10 to 15 Questions which contains Skin Diseases & STDs, Psychiatric Disorders & Management, Anesthesia Techniques & Complications. Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM) is for 20 to 25 Questions which contains Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Public Health & National Health Programs, Occupational & Environmental Health.
