NIACL AO Exam Pattern 2025
The selection process for the NIACL AO Exam consist of 2 stages that are Prelims and Mains. The Prelims contains 100 marks where as Mains exam consist of 200 marks. Also the topics for the both exam are almost same only the difficulty level will increase. Marking scheme, duration, medium, and negative marking such type of information is given below.
NIACL AO Phase 1 Exam Pattern
- NIACL AO Exam Pattern 2025 for Prelims Exam consists of three sections which include Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English language.
- NIACL AO Prelims Exam Pattern 2025 will be of 100 Marks consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.
- The mode of examination will be online and the time duration for complete examination will be 1 hrs (20 minutes per section.).
- There is also a negative marking of 1/4th mark (i.e., 0.25 marks) for each wrong answer.

NIACL AO Phase 2 Exam Pattern 2025
- NIACL AO Mains Examination will consist of four sections having Objective Type Questions for 200 marks.
- NIACL AO Mains Examination will also have a Descriptive Test for 30 marks.
- The mode of examination for both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online mode.
- The Objective Test will have four sections, it includes English language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.

NIACL AO Phase II Exam Pattern for Specialist Posts
The exam pattern for the NIACL AO Mains exam for the Specialist post is similar but along with the other four subjects mentioned above (for the Generalist post), there is one additional subject related to the Specialist stream.

Descriptive Test: The descriptive test will be conducted online only. It consists of an English language test (Letter Writing – 10 marks and Essay – 20 marks). The duration of the descriptive test is 30 minutes.

NIACL AO Interview Stage
Only candidates who qualify both the exam (prelims and mains) will be eligible to appear for the interview round, which is the final stage for selection to the posts of Administrative Officer. A 80:20 ratio determines the weights between evaluation from online exams along with interview assessments.
