RRB Group D Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Group D Exam is conducted for selecting the candidates for various posts in Indian Railway. Lets understand the exam pattern and syllabus.

Exam Pattern 

This examination consists of three stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test
  2. Physical Efficiency Test
  3. Document Verification

This exam is of total 100 marks and for 100 questions containing four sections such as mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning, general science and last one as general awareness and current affairs.

This exam is of the 90 minutes and if the candidates are PwD then the duration will be 120 minutes. And there will be negative marking of 1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.

Syllabus RRB Group D

The mathematics section is for the 25 questions which contains topics as number system, BODMAS, decimals and fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, mensuration, time and work etc..

The General Intelligence and Reasoning section includes the sub topics as analogies, coding decoding, classification, syllogism, series completion, blood relationship, alphabetical and number series. 

General science is for the 25 questions which contains physics, chemistry and biology topics which are based on the 10th standards NCERT syllabus.

General Awareness and Current Affairs is asked for 20 questions in exam which contains Indian history, geography, awards, honors, policies, sports, current affairs etc..

Physical Efficiency Test 

The PET for male candidates in which they have to lift and carry the 35 kg weight for 100 meters and have to run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds.

The PET for female candidates will be they have to carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes and run 1000 meters in 5 min 40 seconds.

After this the document verification will be done of the candidates.
