UP Police Constable Selection Process 2025
As mentioned in the notification, the selection process for the posts of Constable in UP Police consists of several stages. To get selected, candidates need to score the cut-off marks in each stage as discussed below. Both PET and PST marks serve as qualifying test for the candidates. The final merit list for the posts of Constable will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in the written examination.
Stage 1- Written Exam – The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will conduct the UP Police written exam to shortlist eligible candidates for the next stage of the selection process. The written exam will consist of a total of 150 questions for 300 marks.
Stage 2- Document Verification and Physical Standard Test (PST) – Based on the merit list in the written exam qualified candidates will be called for DV and PST exams. In the document verification process candidate’s original documents shall be checked by the officials and a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) candidate’s height & chest (only for males) will be measured.
Stage 3- Physical Measurement Test (PMT)- Candidates who qualify for the PST exam will be shortlisted to appear for the Physical Measurement Test which includes a running event.
UP Police Constable Exam Pattern 2025

- The duration of UP Police Constable Exam is 2 hours (120 minutes).
- This exam will be an objective type written exam.
- This exam will consist of four different papers (General Hindi, General Knowledge, Numerical and Mental Ability Test and Mental Aptitude/Intelligence/Reasoning).
- This exam will be of total 300 marks and will have 150 questions.
- This exam will be in bilingual language (English and Hindi).
- Each question will carry +2 marks.
- There will be 0.5 negative marks for each wrong answer.
