2025 CAPF Notification. Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply for the post of Assistant Commandant in the Central Armed Police Forces. On August 3, 2025, UPSC will conduct the written examination for the posts of Assistant Commandant (Group A) in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Border Security Force (BSF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :
(I) Nationality : Any person outside Indian citizenship requires the written authorisation by the Central Government to obtain employment under these rules. Under these rules any regulation will not prevent Nepalese or Bhutanese nationals from obtaining appointment or enrollment as employees.
(II) Sex :Any male or female candidate can seek appointment as Assistant Commandants through standard application procedures.
(III) Age Limits : (a) A candidate must be at least 20 years old and not older than 25 on August 1, 2025; to put it another way, the candidate must have been born between August 2, 2000, and August 1, 2005.
(b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable.
(i) up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
(ii) up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
(iii) up to a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants in accordance with the existing instructions of the Central Government.
(IV) Minimum Educational Requirements: A candidate must be a graduate of a university in India that was incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature, or other educational institutions created by an Act of Parliament, or which Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, declares to be a university, or have an equivalent degree.

HOW TO APPLY:
(a) Candidates are required to apply Online using the link https://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.
(b) The candidates should send their documents as one application form only. The candidate must submit one application only but if any unavoidable situation occurs he/she should verify that their application with the highest RID contains all required details including applicant information and examination center as well as photograph and signature and fee payment details. Only the application bearing the highest RID (Registration ID) will be accepted by the Commission yet the payment made for one single RID cannot be transferred toward a different RID.
(c) All candidates, whether already in Government Service, Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organisations or in private employment should submit their applications direct to the Commission.
SELECTION PROCEDURE :
The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the Examination will be as follows:
(i) Written Examination: Two papers will make up the Union Public Service Commission’s written test, which is scheduled for August 3, 2025. The hours for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., respectively.
Paper I : General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks
The questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 Marks
In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precision Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only.
- Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.
- Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission
- The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS :
Applications for online registration will be available till 6 pm on 25th March 2025. The procedure for completing the online application is given in Annexure-II(A).
(ii) The modification period for online applications extends from 26.03.2025 to 01.04.2025 until 6.00 PM before the system operates disabled mode. Once an application has been submitted the candidates will receive no opportunity to withdraw it.
DATE OF EXAMINATION :
The written examination scheduled for 03rd August, 2025 under Union Public Service Commission includes two papers which will take place simultaneously. The written examination by the Union Public Service Commission will take place on 03rd August, 2025 with Paper I starting at 10 a.m. followed by Paper II between 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
