By preparing this UPSC Engineering Services Exam Syllabus candidates can score well in UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2025. The UPSC Engineering Services Examination (Prelims/Stage-1) will have two objective-type (multiple-choice) papers, carrying a maximum of 500 marks (Paper 1 – 200 marks and Paper 2 – 300 marks). The Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) examination will consist of two conventional type papers in Engineering stream of three hours duration and carrying a maximum of 600 marks (300 marks in each paper). UPSC ESE Exam Pattern 2025
As we all know that UPSC Engineering Services Exam selection process consists of Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Personality Test. Candidates who have been declared qualified in the Preliminary/Exam-1 examination by the Commission in that year, will be eligible for admission in the Mains/Exam-II examination of that year, provided they are eligible for admission in the Mains/Exam-II examination.
Each question has four options for answers. For each question answered wrongly by the candidate, one-third (1/3) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted as penalty. The Engineering Services (Mains/Stage-II) examination will consist of two conventional type papers in Engineering stream of three hours duration and carrying a maximum of 600 marks (300 marks in each paper). In the third phase there will be a personality test of 200 marks.
